The hotel

On the first slope.

Gudauri Lodge opened in December 2019, built by Amber Group, the hotel arm of Georgia Capital, on the slope itself beside the first ski run. From the door you are on more than 80 kilometres of marked pistes and 14 lifts. The resort sits high on the road from Tbilisi to Kazbegi, and the hotel stands at about 2,000 metres, with a sun terrace that looks across the Caucasus.

It was planned around Georgian food and wine. The restaurant cooks Georgian dishes in a modern way, and the enoteca opened with more than 150 Georgian wines on its list. Days run from ski tours and heliskiing to paragliding; in summer the same mountains are given over to trekking. Outside, an open-air hot tub is kept at 38 °C, even with snow on the ground around it.

  • Ski-in, ski-out The hotel stands next to the first slope, with rental, a ski depot, guided ski tours and heliskiing on the list of activities.
