The hotel

An Italian architect's glass tower.

The Radisson Blu opened in Batumi in the summer of 2011. The Italian architect Michele De Lucchi gave it a glass skin and a spare, minimal interior, and every one of the 168 rooms has windows from floor to ceiling, looking over the city, the coast or the countryside. On the nineteenth floor, a bar and restaurant called Clouds took the best of the view.

The address is 1 Ninoshvili Street, a few minutes on foot from the beach and the Seaside Boulevard, and about ten minutes by car from the railway station. A grand ballroom for 350 people sits downstairs with the meeting rooms. The hotel also has a casino, and its spa by the French skincare house Anne Semonin covers 1,800 square metres. Medea, the Georgian restaurant, has a sunny terrace and live music on Fridays and Sundays.
