The hotel
The last house on the road to Campeche.
The house went up in the nineteenth century in the Barrio de la Ermita, on the old Camino Real to Campeche, and was the last stop for travellers leaving the city. From the street it looks French, with an ornate neoclassical front. Behind the door it turns into a Spanish courtyard house, with timbered ceilings and patterned tile floors. Many suites have balconies, and a few open straight onto the roof terrace.
The architect Roger González restored it and kept the façade, and the hotel opened in 2023. It now has a sister house in La Mejorada. The MICHELIN Guide gave it a Key in 2025 and kept it in 2026, describing a modern reading of the grand Yucatecan home, with colonial and Maya details side by side. The house is run as a retreat for adults only.
- Pools on the roof The two rooftop suites each have a private pool and terrace. From the Premium suite you look across to the parish church of San Sebastián.
- Cocina Vidente The house restaurant, led by chef Daniel Ron, cooks with smoke and open fire and builds on Yucatecan flavours.
- Slow days Yoga, massage and cooking classes in the house; kayaking and diving in the cenotes outside the city.
