The hotel
Wanders on the Buda bank.
The building is a listed mansion of the nineteenth century on the Danube, standing behind Bem Park and its statue of General Józef Bem, the Polish soldier who fought for Hungary in 1848 and 1849. For years it stood unused. IHG opened it in the summer of 2024 as the first Kimpton in Budapest.
The Dutch designer Marcel Wanders took his cues from Hungarian folklore, flora and fauna. Mythical figures and animals turn up across the walls, a golden stag stands in a glass atrium, and the rooms alternate between the blue of Lake Balaton and the green of the forests. The bar is named after the Danube's beluga sturgeon.
- feNNen Skybar A rooftop bar on the fifth floor, inside and out, with a sky garden and views over the city.
- The design Marcel Wanders' patterns and curiosities in every room, from the stag in the atrium to the sturgeon at the bar.
- Pets welcome Dogs of any size stay at no extra charge, provided they fit in the lift.
