The hotel
Veni, vidi, amavi.
Kanika Hotels & Resorts opened Amavi in 2018 as the first hotel in Cyprus designed from the start for couples. The group announced it in February of that year for an opening at the end of September. The name bends Caesar's line into "I came, I saw, I loved". It belongs to the group's MadeForTwo brand, and no one under eighteen stays. All 155 rooms and suites look out to sea.
The building runs along a Blue Flag beach on Poseidonos Avenue, with the harbour and the medieval fort of Paphos a walk away along the promenade. Four restaurants and three bars share the building, from Immenso on the roof garden to Fort-O-Lana on its terrace by the water. Dinner works on a dine-around plan across the four restaurants, devised by the group's chefs and sommeliers with Theodor Falser.
- Saffire Pool An infinity pool with a swim-up bar, one of two outdoor pools. A third pool is indoors.
- Evera Spa Treatment rooms for couples, a sauna, a steam bath and a gym.
- Immenso A roof garden restaurant serving Pan-Asian dishes over the sea.
