The hotel
The town's first hotel, redrawn.
The Paphos Beach Hotel went up in 1973, the first hotel in the town. In 2003 the Thanos family had it converted into Almyra, a name that means the taste of the sea. The French designer Joelle Pleot, working with Tristan Auer, kept the mid-century frame and dressed it in white, sky blue and pale wood. The Cypriot architects J+A Philippou worked on the building.
She came back for the spa in 2007, advised on the infinity pool and terraces in 2017, and redid every room for a reopening on 1 March 2020, with furniture in oak and olive wood made by Cypriot craftsmen. The hotel stands on the seafront of Poseidonos Avenue, about fifteen minutes on foot from the archaeological park of Nea Paphos.
- Five pools Two for adults only with sundecks, an infinity lap pool by the spa, an indoor pool and a shallow one for small children.
- Almyraspa Nine treatment rooms, two of them for couples, with saunas, steam rooms, a gym and rooftop lounges.
- Mythos Kids' Club For children from four months to their teens, with babysitting and a pre-arrival service for nappies and baby kit.
