The hotel
Melco's Nüwa comes to Colombo.
Nüwa began in Macau and Manila in 2018, the top hotel brand of Melco Resorts & Entertainment. The Colombo hotel opened in the summer of 2025 inside City of Dreams Sri Lanka, the resort Melco built with John Keells Holdings on Justice Akbar Mawatha. The whole complex covers 4.5 million square feet and cost USD 1.3 billion, with a casino, shops, offices and flats.
The hotel takes the upper floors, with 113 rooms looking over the Indian Ocean or the city. Its name comes from Nüwa, a goddess of Chinese myth, and the rooms carry original artwork and handmade furniture on that theme. The pool, the lounges and the whisky bar share Level 25, and the spa uses Hortus products from Italy. In May 2026 Sri Lanka Tourism presented its five-star certificate.
- Level 25 A rooftop pool with its own bar, open from morning to evening.
- The Vault A bar of 22 seats for whisky, with a billiard room and a private meeting room, open from 5 pm to 1 am.
- The Crystal Lounge Open around the clock for tea, pastries and wine.
