The hotel
A town house on Liberty Square.
Verno House opened in 2022 in the Rosenberg building, an old apartment house on the corner of Október 6. utca and Szabadság utca in Lipótváros, the banking and government quarter of Pest. Liberty Square, laid out in the city's great years at the end of the nineteenth century, is at the end of the street, and the restaurant terrace looks onto it. Behind the house is a garden of some 200 square metres.
The renovation changed almost everything inside while keeping and rebuilding some of the old detail. Júlia Losonczi and Veronika Pusztai of Bis Tervezőiroda did the interiors: warm tones, heavy textures and, in the rooms, vintage telephones beside modern bathrooms with walk-in showers. The hotel calls itself a five-star boutique house and belongs to IHG's Vignette Collection. It holds one MICHELIN Key, one of ten Budapest hotels in the 2026 selection.
