The hotel
A Paris passage in Pest.
Henrik Schmahl designed the building before the First World War for a Budapest savings bank, with a covered shopping passage modelled on the Passage des Panoramas in Paris. The bank took the bee as its emblem, and bees and honeycomb still turn up on the ironwork and in the salons. Damaged in 1956 and patched up in a hurry, the arcade became a listed monument in 1976.
Restoration began in 2014 to plans by the Archikon studio and took about four and a half years, with some 3,000 people on site at one time or another. Craftsmen brought back the stained glass from Miksa Róth's workshop, the Zsolnay tiles, the mahogany portals and two domes, and had replacement floor tiles made in Hungary. Kroki Studio designed the interiors. Hyatt announced the opening in June 2019, under The Unbound Collection, and Mellow Mood Hotels runs it.

- Párisi kocka The patisserie's dark chocolate cube, named after the house. In the evening the café turns to cocktails.
- Spa and gym A full spa with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, and a gym open around the clock.
