The hotel
Glass on Erzsébet tér.
The Kempinski stands on Erzsébet tér in the centre of Pest, a glass-clad building in the shape of a C, with Fashion Street on one side and Erzsébet Park in front. It has been open for more than thirty years. Inside hangs the Corvinus Art Collection, some 1,500 pieces of original Hungarian art, and the hotel employs about three hundred people.
From 2018 the hotel was renovated in phases, at a cost of 30 million euros, and in May 2025 all 350 rooms and suites were unveiled. The British designer Alex Kravetz and the Hungarian studio Haken Design shared the work. Five suites take their themes from Hungarian history and craft, the Herend Suite among them. The Presidential Suite was named Hungary's Leading Hotel Suite at the World Travel Awards.
- Kempinski The Spa More than 525 square metres in a Japandi style, with a pool, tepidarium, steam rooms and saunas. Treatments use Hungarian mud.
- Nobu Budapest Nobuyuki Matsuhisa's Japanese-Peruvian cooking, in the hotel.
- The art The Corvinus Art Collection of some 1,500 Hungarian pieces, which also gives its name to five themed suites.
