The hotel
Palace lines on the garden avenues.
The hotel stands in Hivernage, the garden district just outside the medina walls. Its architecture borrows from Moorish palaces, and its gardens run to bougainvillea, palms and pools, and the terrace of L'Orangerie faces the Atlas Mountains. Until 2008 it was one property, the Sofitel Marrakech Imperial Hotel and Spa. It was then divided in two: the Palais Impérial and, next door, the Sofitel Marrakech Lounge and Spa.
The two hotels keep separate entrances and different rooms but share the pools, restaurants and spa. La Mamounia is three hundred metres away, the medina souks five hundred, and Jemaa el-Fna about fifteen minutes on foot. In June 2026 the hotel added an Executive Lounge a few steps from its main pool, kept for Accor's Diamond and Limitless members, with fruit in the morning, iced tea at midday and savoury plates in the late afternoon.
- L'Orangerie The hotel's gourmet table, cooking Moroccan and French dishes, with a terrace that faces the Atlas.
- Sofitel Spa Moroccan and French treatments, a hammam and a heated indoor pool, with a fitness room alongside.
- For families A children's club for ages six to twelve, indoor and outdoor play areas and a large children's pool.
