The hotel
A walled palace across from the Menara.
Four Seasons opened here in June 2011, on the Boulevard de la Menara across from the twelfth-century Menara Gardens. Hill Glazier drew the original concept with Didier Lefort Architectes, and GA Design did the interiors. The idea came from the medina: a walled compound of low, rose-coloured buildings in the manner of a Moorish palace, with pavilions set around it in the gardens.
Guests reach their rooms through arcades, courtyards and stairways, as they would in a riad. There are 141 of them on sixteen hectares, all with a terrace, from main-building rooms to garden villas. Palms, fountains, reflecting pools and floating pavilions fill the grounds between, and the Atlas shows from Zest, the bar on the roof. Children have their own club by the family pool, and adults a pool of their own.
- Two pools One pool for adults only and one for families, with cabanas and a wading pool for small children.
- Le Spa Separate wet areas for men and women, each with a hammam, sauna, steam room and plunge pools, and eight treatment rooms.
- Zest The rooftop bar, with cocktails and the Atlas Mountains on the horizon at sunset.
