The hotel
White on white, above the town.
Kyma opened in 2017, developed by Marios and Vangelis Daktylides, two of the four brothers who run The Myconian Collection. They asked the Lebanese architect Galal Mahmoud to design it, and he set the rooms in sugar-cube buildings on the hill above Mykonos Town, each with a terrace and many with a pool facing the Aegean. The hotel belongs to Design Hotels, the group of independent hotels linked to Marriott.
Inside, the brief was white on white, with furniture in a 1960s spirit and works by international artists on the walls. Kyma is Greek for wave. The windmills and Little Venice are a short walk downhill, and two sister hotels, Korali and Naia, stand on the same slope. The Satori Thalasso Spa has five pools and a sauna, and Noa cooks Greek food.
- Satori Thalasso Spa Five pools, a sauna and treatment rooms, with yoga and Pilates and a gym alongside.
- The pool terrace Sunbeds and a bar looking down over the town and out to sea.
- A walk into town The windmills and Little Venice are a short stroll away, so a car is rarely needed in the evening.

Getting there
Flying to Mykonos.
Mykonos airport lies just outside the town, a few minutes away by car, our estimate. In summer, direct flights arrive from much of Europe, and Athens is a short connection all year. Private jets land at the same airport, where in July and August parking is tight and aircraft often drop their passengers and reposition.
- Athens 30 min
- Nice 2 h 30
- Geneva 2 h 45
- Paris 3 h 15
- London 3 h 40
