The hotel
On the hill over Elia.
The Imperial opened in 2002 on the slope above Elia, on the south coast about eleven kilometres from Mykonos Town. It belongs to The Myconian Collection, the hotel group George and Eleftheria Daktylides started on the island in 1979, which their four sons now run. The Royal Myconian stands next door, and more of the family's hotels climb the same hillside.
A design team led by Antonis Kalogridis renovated the hotel in 2017. Most rooms open onto a balcony, and many look out over the Aegean. Below lies Elia, which the hotel calls the longest sandy beach on the island, and the group keeps a stretch of it for guests, with sunbeds and umbrellas included. A free shuttle runs into town.
- The lagoon pool A large saltwater pool in two parts, one with its own bar, plus a hot tub looking down over the beach.
- Elia beach A five-minute walk downhill to the hotel's own section of the sand, with sunbeds and umbrellas for guests.
- Into town A free shuttle runs to Mykonos Town through the day and into the night.

Private jets land at the same airport, where in July and August parking is tight and aircraft often drop their passengers and reposition.
