The hotel
Above the shopping street.
Mandarin Oriental opened its first Beijing hotel in March 2019, on the upper floors of WF CENTRAL, a shopping centre on Wangfujing Street. This is the main shopping district of the city, and the Forbidden City lies close by to the west. Some rooms and the terrace of MO Bar look straight over its roofs. When the hotel opened, all three of its restaurants and bars gave onto a garden terrace.
With only seventy-three rooms and suites, it is a small hotel for central Beijing. The rooms are furnished in a residential manner with Chinese touches, and the bathrooms are large. The hotel also has a spa, a sauna, a gym and an indoor lap pool of twenty-five metres lit by daylight. Mongolian dinners are served in a yurt. The MICHELIN Guide lists the hotel with one Key.
- MO Bar Cocktails and a late lounge, with an outdoor terrace looking over the Forbidden City.
- The pool A 25-metre indoor lap pool with natural light, next to the spa, the sauna and the gym.
- Wangfujing at the door The hotel sits above WF CENTRAL, with the shopping street outside and the Forbidden City a short walk away.
