The hotel
Named by Voltaire.
Luc was the teasing nickname Voltaire gave his friend and patron Frederick the Great, and the hotel took it when MHP Hotel AG reopened the building in 2022 under Marriott's Autograph Collection. The house on Charlottenstrasse had been a Dorint and then a Sofitel before. Marriott rates it five stars, and the house holds 92 rooms and suites, with a gym on the seventh floor.
The interior architect Oana Rosen built the rooms around Prussian blue, the colour of the king's uniforms, with photographs by the Hungarian artist Andras Dobi and porcelain from KPM, the old royal manufactory. Some rooms have small balconies that face the French Cathedral across the Gendarmenmarkt. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are now served in YOU., which replaced the Heritage restaurant in July 2026 under the head chef Nico Goebel.

- YOU. The ground floor restaurant, bar and lounge, open from breakfast through to the evening, with a terrace outside.
- Fitness and spa A gym on the seventh floor with views over the city, and the CitySpa with a sauna, relaxation room and terrace.
