The hotel
A gift on the Passeig de Gràcia.
Mariano Fuster, a wealthy Majorcan, commissioned the house as a gift for his wife, and Lluís Domènech i Montaner, several of whose buildings are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, completed it in 1908. It stands where the Passeig de Gràcia meets the old town of Gràcia, and its ground-floor salon, now the Café Vienés, was where Barcelona society came to be received.
In the 1960s the local electricity company had its headquarters here. Its present owners converted it into a hotel, renovated in 2004 and classed five-star Gran Lujo Monumento. The lobby keeps a black mosaic floor and fluted columns, and the house was a filming location for Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona. On the first floor, Aleia holds two stars in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide España.
- Aleia Two MICHELIN stars on the first floor, under an undulating ceiling between tall columns. Rafa de Bedoya runs the kitchen with Paulo Airaudo, on a single tasting menu.
- Jazz on Thursdays Live jazz from nine until eleven in the hotel's Jazz Club, in the same rooms where the Fusters once held receptions.
- The Mirador A terrace and outdoor pool on the roof, looking down the Passeig de Gràcia one way and up to Tibidabo the other.
