The hotel

A duke's house by the Élysée.

The mansion went up in 1854 and became the home of the Duc de Morny, half-brother of Napoleon III. It stands on the avenue Gabriel, one street from the Champs-Élysées, with the presidential palace as its neighbour. Michel Reybier, who owns La Réserve hotels in Switzerland and France, bought it and gave Jacques Garcia three years to turn it into a hotel.

Garcia kept the scale of a private house: forty rooms, twenty-five of them suites, with Carrara marble bathrooms and a butler for each. Reybier picked the fabrics and furniture himself. The hotel opened in 2015 and was named a Palace the following year. Jérôme Banctel cooks at Le Gabriel, which holds three MICHELIN stars, and the hotel holds three Keys in 2026.

  • Le Gabriel Jérôme Banctel's dining room, three MICHELIN stars in the Guide France 2026.
  • The Duc de Morny library Home to Le Jazz, the bar, beside a wood-burning fireplace.
  • The spa A 16-metre indoor pool, a hammam and Nescens treatments from Switzerland.
