The hotel
Art Deco in the Zoofenster.
The Zoofenster rises 118 metres and 32 floors over City West, a tower of stone and glass by the architect Christoph Mäckler. The Waldorf Astoria opened inside it in January 2013, taking 232 rooms and suites, with the presidential suite on the top floor. Guerlain opened its first spa in Germany here, a thousand square metres with eight treatment rooms; today it runs as the Waldorf Astoria Spa, with a pool.
Inter Art Etudes of Paris gave the interiors an Art Deco line. On the ground floor the hotel revived the Romanisches Café, where Berlin's writers, artists and musicians met about a century earlier, close to where the original stood. High tea is served in The Library Lounge on the fifteenth floor. In 2026 the MICHELIN Guide took the hotel straight into its selection with two Keys.
- The Library Lounge High tea on the fifteenth floor, with the rooftops of City West below.
- Lang Bar A bar for the original Waldorf Astoria cocktails, as well as artisan beers.
- Pool and spa The Waldorf Astoria Spa with a swimming pool and a fitness centre inside the tower.
