The hotel
Art Nouveau on the Steinplatz.
August Endell designed the building, and it opened as a hotel in 1913. Over the following decades it became a meeting place for artists and writers; the MICHELIN Guide counts Vladimir Nabokov and Brigitte Bardot among the guests, on separate visits. About a century after it opened, the five floors were restored and reopened as a boutique hotel dressed in the spirit of the 1920s.
On 1 January 2025 the Gekko Group took over and renamed it Roomers Berlin, the brand's first hotel in the city, though the old name still runs across the façade. The restaurant became Manon, a French brasserie built with the restaurateur The Duc Ngo, who had worked with the Gekko founders before. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served there. The hotel holds one MICHELIN Key.
- Top floor A spa and gym under the roof, looking out over the Berlin skyline, with a sauna.
- Manon Brasserie Nouvelle French brasserie classics given a contemporary turn by The Duc Ngo, from breakfast through dinner, with Bar Manon for cocktails.
- Charlottenburg A more residential, artistic side of the city than Mitte, close to the Kurfürstendamm.
