The hotel
On the La Puntilla shore.
The Peruvian hotel group Aranwa opened its Paracas resort in March 2014 on the La Puntilla shore, at the entrance to Paracas Bay, about three hours down the coast from Lima. Every one of its 115 rooms was given a terrace and a view, and a pier runs 180 metres out over the water, with a lounge bar at the far end for the evening. Tennis, two pools and a play area fill the grounds.
Over five months, the group spent more than US$3.5 million refitting the resort, and showed the result in January 2025. The rooms now come in the browns of the desert dunes, and the decoration borrows from the ancient Paracas culture of this coast. The lobby gained a coworking corner and a play area for children at check-in. The national reserve is a quarter of an hour away by car.
- The pier A 180 metre pier over the bay, with the Lounge Bar at its end for sunset drinks.
- Unno Spa Wellness and beauty treatments at the resort's own spa, with two pools in the grounds.
- Ballestas and the reserve Boats to the Ballestas Islands leave from El Chaco, five minutes away, and the Paracas National Reserve is fifteen minutes by car.
