The hotel
A mansion on the main square.
Plaza 25 de Mayo is where Sucre gathers: the cathedral, the Casa de la Libertad where Bolivia declared its independence in 1825, and the white façades that earned the city its place on the UNESCO list. The Capital Plaza takes one of the mansions on the square itself, at number 29, so the old town starts at the front door. Behind the façade are thirty rooms.
Inside, the plan follows the old house. The lobby is open to the sky, with a fountain and a broad staircase rising to the upper floors. Rooms keep the period look, with flowered wallpaper and carved wooden furniture, and antiques fill the public rooms. A roof terrace looks out over the square and the city. Downstairs, billiards fill an English-style games room, and the covered pool is decorated in an Egyptian theme.
- The square outside The cathedral and the Casa de la Libertad are a few steps away, and every walk through the old town starts here.
- A covered pool An indoor pool decorated in an Egyptian theme, with a bar beside it and a gym open around the clock.
- Billiards after dinner An English-style games room with a billiard table, and a bar for the end of the evening.
