The hotel
The Duhau family's palace.
The Duhau brothers bought the land in the late 1920s and asked the French architect León Dourge for a palace modelled on the Château du Marais outside Paris. It was finished in 1934, red marble floors and all, and the family lived there until 1995. Charles Thays, the city's parks commissioner, had laid out the gardens behind it.
Hyatt and the developer Juan Scalesciani spent US$74 million restoring the house and adding a new wing at the far end of the gardens. The hotel opened on 12 July 2006, four years after the palace was declared a national historic monument. Twenty-three rooms and suites are in the palace; the rest are in the new building.
- Aramburu The tasting-menu restaurant Aramburu, two MICHELIN Stars in the 2026 Argentine guide, is inside the hotel.
- Ahín spa A spa with a pool of nearly 25 metres, which the MICHELIN Guide calls the most extensive in town.
- The Oak Bar Panelled, with a fireplace and leather wing chairs, and a long-standing meeting place for the city.
