The hotel

A tower in CityCenter without a casino.

The tower opened in December 2009 as the Mandarin Oriental, one of the first parts of CityCenter, built on the site of the old Boardwalk hotel. Kohn Pedersen Fox drew the building, 47 floors with the hotel below and private residences above, and Adam Tihany did the interiors. It was certified LEED Gold in 2009, and it never had a gaming floor. The original lobby sat on the 23rd floor, high above the Boulevard.

MGM and Dubai World sold the hotel in 2018, Hilton took over the running of it, and on 30 August that year it became the first Waldorf Astoria in Las Vegas. A renovation between 2021 and 2024 took out the old Asian theme. The lobby came down to street level, and the former Sky Lobby on the 23rd floor turned into Peacock Alley, a tea lounge looking along the Strip.

  • Peacock Alley Afternoon tea, cocktails and small plates on the 23rd floor, with the Strip below the windows.
  • The spa Two floors of treatment rooms high above the Boulevard, with sauna, steam rooms and a gym.
  • The pool deck Three pools on the eighth floor, with a café for light meals and drinks.
