The hotel
A dry hotel on the West Corniche.
Rayhaan is Rotana's brand for hotels that serve no alcohol, and Khalidiya Palace was its third, after Makkah and Dubai, when it opened to the public in June 2010. It has 443 rooms and suites, some with serviced apartment layouts, and every bar here pours juices, coffee and mocktails. From the start it had six meeting rooms, a spa and a fitness centre, and the Bodylines club now adds two indoor squash courts.
The site is at the western end of the Corniche, opposite Emirates Palace. The Etihad Towers are about a kilometre away and Qasr Al Watan, the presidential palace open to visitors, about two. Rooms face either the Gulf or the palace. The hotel has its own beach of two hundred metres, with watersports, a large family pool and a playground. Qasr Al Hosn, where the city began, is about ten minutes by car.
- The beach Two hundred metres of private sand on the Gulf, with watersports and the Sunset bar for juices and ice cream.
- Kamoon The Arabic restaurant, with a terrace and live entertainment, voted the city's favourite Middle Eastern restaurant at the What's On Abu Dhabi Awards 2024.
- For families A big family pool, a separate pool and playground for children, and two indoor squash courts at the Bodylines club.
