The hotel
A warehouse with a library.
The building was a warehouse in the 1980s: red brick, a roofline you notice from the street, and wide shop windows. The Stay, a group with four hotels in Istanbul, kept the industrial shell and laid gardens round it, with an olive tree said to be a thousand years old. It stands a short way from the busy centre of Alaçatı.
It works as a cultural address as much as a hotel. There are concerts, plays, film screenings and cooking workshops, and a library of books on art and architecture. The 24 suites face the gardens. Each comes with an espresso machine, a Smeg minibar and a sound system with a turntable, in a style the MICHELIN Guide calls urban rustic.
- Art and architecture library Books on art and architecture, with concerts, plays, film screenings and cooking workshops held at the hotel.
- Heated pool An oblong pool in the garden, lined with sunloungers.
- Plage Isolée A shuttle runs to the beach club and its private pier, and into the centre of Alaçatı.
