The hotel
In the Valley of Golf.
La Quinta sits inland from Puerto Banús, in the stretch of Benahavís the coast calls the Valley of Golf. The resort grew up around the La Quinta Golf & Country Club, where the Spanish player Manuel Piñero laid out three nine-hole championship courses, twenty-seven holes in all. The hotel stands beside them, with its Lagoon Pool and spa alongside.
In 2015 the owners, Phoenix Enterprises, signed with Starwood to bring the Westin name back to the resort, making it the third Westin in Spain. Today it has 170 rooms and suites, a lagoon pool and a spa of more than 1,500 square metres. The centre of Marbella is about ten minutes away by car.
