The hotel
A 1960s classic, done over.
Hotel Los Monteros opened in 1962 in the pine woods east of Marbella, a few streets back from the sea. It set the pace for the Costa del Sol in its day and is reported to have been the first hotel in Spain to win a Michelin star.
IHG reopened it under the Kimpton name in 2025 after a full renovation. The Barcelona studio El Equipo Creativo reworked the public spaces, and Cristina Carulla Studio redesigned the rooms in terracotta and Andalusian tones. The beach club, La Cabane, is now dressed by Dolce&Gabbana, with cooking by Dani García.
- Escondido The rooftop, with an infinity pool and Mexican-inspired food and cocktails.
- La Cabane The beach club on the sand, with private sunbeds and cabanas, styled by Dolce&Gabbana.
- Racket Club Tennis and padel courts in the grounds, and a spa by Maison Codage with an indoor pool at 33 °C.
