The hotel
An old address inside the walls.
Hotel Titano has been taking guests since 1894. It occupies a nineteenth-century palazzo on Contrada del Collegio, in the pedestrian lanes of the old town, a few minutes on foot from Piazza della Libertà and the Palazzo Pubblico. The hotel likes to say that its furniture and its guest book tell the story of the Republic, and over the years diplomats, writers and heads of state have signed it.
No two rooms are dressed alike. Some look out over the hills of the Montefeltro, others towards Piazza della Libertà, and the singles face the medieval lanes. Dinner is the draw. La Terrazza lays its tables among the battlements of a medieval tower, lit by candles, with the Apennines stretching away below. For something simpler, the Osteria del Titano cooks on Piazza Garibaldi.
