The hotel

Four stars, Gold, on Loch Promenade.

The Claremont faces Douglas Bay from Loch Promenade, a short walk from the ferry terminal, the government buildings and the business district. Many of its fifty-six rooms are set up for people who come to the island on business, with desks in every room, boarding card printers in the Business Club rooms, 24-hour business services and room service at any hour.

In 2015 Quality in Tourism, which grades hotels for VisitEngland, gave it four stars with a Gold award, a first for a Manx hotel. That year it was also in the MICHELIN Guide for hotels and restaurants, and the World Travel Awards named it the Isle of Man's leading hotel for the second year running. The Gold award was renewed in 2019, and Visit Isle of Man still lists no hotel on the island graded higher.
