The hotel

A banker's villa by the Main.

Villa Speyer went up in 1901 as a neo-Gothic banker's mansion in Sachsenhausen, a few steps from the Main. For years it was the Villa Kennedy, run by Rocco Forte, until it closed in 2022. The listed villa survived the three years of building that followed, and its core of stone, wood and stucco was kept, joined to new wings in a contemporary style.

Althoff Collection reopened it as The Florentin on 1 December 2025, with new wings wrapped around a planted courtyard. Atelier Zürich designed the salons of the nine villa suites, each named after someone who shaped Frankfurt; Unscripted Design did the rooms in earth tones and warm wood. Behind them sit a spa of about 930 square metres and a restaurant with two stars. In 2026 the hotel entered the MICHELIN Guide with one Key.

  • the dune Niclas Nußbaumer and Lea Rupp cook here, holding two MICHELIN stars after their years at the Mühle in Schluchsee.
  • The spa Five treatment rooms with rituals developed with Dr. Barbara Sturm, a fourteen-metre indoor pool, saunas and a garden.
