The hotel
A wedding gift on the north-west coast.
Gregor Nassief first saw this headland when he was ten, and spent some thirty years buying the land. In 2011 his father-in-law, the Venezuelan architect Fruto Vivas, drew a family house for the site. The couple asked for something smaller, and the drawings became four villas. Nassief and his wife, Sandra Vivas, still own the resort, and the land runs down to two secluded beaches on the north-west coast.
There are now twenty-seven villas in six groups, built of native tropical wood with beds carved from red cedar by Dominican craftsmen. The Zabuco Honeymoon villa sits on a rocky outcrop over the sea; Ti-Fèy and Ylang Ylang stand among the trees. More is coming: six Cliffside Villas above Coconut Beach, two new spas and a family pool pavilion.
- Two beaches The resort has direct access to two secluded beaches, and Zing Zing looks down on Tibay Beach.
- Into the island Jungle hikes, cave swims, night snorkelling and mangrove kayaking, and a tour of the Indian River is included in the rate.
- Gommier Spa The spa has the feel of a treetop house, and two more spas are planned within the coming year.
