The hotel
A coconut orchard turned resort.
Four Seasons opened here in February 2007, on a former coconut orchard at the north-western point of the island. Bensley Design Studios drew both the buildings and the interiors after the houses of southern Thailand: thatched roofs, high ceilings and rooms that open to the air. Of the old trees, 856 were kept, and every room looks out to sea.
The villas climb a slope that runs down to a white sand beach, the only private beach access on Samui. Each pool villa has its own infinity pool and a view over the Gulf of Thailand. Boat trips go out to Angthong National Marine Park, and a yacht can be chartered overnight. Down by the beach are the main pool, two turf tennis courts and a beach house with a games room.
- The Secret Garden Spa Five treatment rooms in a coconut grove, using plants and herbs grown on the resort.
- Muay Thai A boxing ring on site for training, and seats at the stadium for a fight night.
- Angthong by boat Day trips to the marine park, and an overnight charter on a private yacht with a barbecue cooked on board.
