The hotel
A founder's beach house, turned health resort.
Boonchu Rojanastien opened Chiva-Som in 1995 on his own stretch of beach in Hua Hin, turning a private seaside property into a resort devoted to health. The resort spreads over seven acres of gardens between the town and the Gulf of Thailand, with rooms in the main building and Thai pavilions among the trees. It is three hours by car from Bangkok.
Stays here are built around a programme. Each guest meets a Health and Wellness Advisor on arrival to set goals, and the days fill with treatments, classes and physiotherapy. In 2022 a sister resort opened in Qatar, Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som. The MICHELIN Guide added Chiva-Som to its Thai selection with one Key in 2026. Stays last at least three nights, and guests must be fourteen or older.

Rooms in the main building have a balcony or terrace towards the sea; the pavilions stand apart in the gardens. A butler looks after every room.

Getting there
Flying to Hua Hin.
Most guests land at Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok, about three hours away by car; the resort runs its own transfers. Private jets can fly on to Hua Hin airport, some twenty minutes from the resort by our estimate, after clearing customs at another Thai airport.
