The hotel
Gardens on The Mall.
The Avari opened in 1978 on Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, the old Mall Road that runs through the centre of Lahore. It belongs to Avari Hotels, the Karachi family group, and stands on about 48,000 square yards of land, much of it lawn and trees. The Alhamra Arts Centre is next door.
The rooms look out over the pool, the gardens or The Mall. A renovation of the public areas added a round grand staircase made entirely of glass. Avari Plaza, a commercial building, stands next door.
