The hotel

The largest hotel in the city.

Shangri-La opened its Ulaanbaatar hotel in 2015 on Olympic Street, a few minutes' walk south of Sükhbaatar Square. With 290 rooms it is the largest hotel in the city, and the MICHELIN Guide lists it. The rooms split two ways: those facing north look over the square and the parliament building, those facing south over Nayramdal Park towards Bogd Khan Uul.

A walkway joins the hotel to the four-storey Shangri-La Mall, where cashmere shops and makers of felt shoes trade alongside international brands and an IMAX cinema. The spa, gym and indoor pool sit at the top of the mall. The embassies of Japan and Bulgaria are neighbours, and the National Museum is fourteen minutes on foot. Horizon Club guests have a lounge of their own on the upper floors.

  • Horizon Club A lounge on the upper floors for Club guests, with evening drinks and a daily buffet.
  • Pool and spa An indoor pool, a sauna, a jacuzzi and a spa, reached across a walkway at the top of the mall.
  • Cashmere next door The mall below sells Mongolian cashmere and felt shoes, a few steps from the lobby.
