The hotel
An island without a timetable.
The Nautilus opened on 3 February 2019 on Thiladhoo, a small island ringed by coral in Baa Atoll, inside the UNESCO biosphere reserve. The first guests stepped ashore to Bodu Beru drums, and at sunset staff lit the nautilus shell set into the pool, a moment the resort calls Nautilus Rising. The shell gives the resort its name and inspired its design.
The idea from the start was to drop the rules. Restaurants keep no opening hours and set no menus or dress codes; a House Master plans each day around the guest. There are only twenty-six houses, some on the beach and some out over the lagoon. Hanifaru Bay, where manta rays and whale sharks gather to feed in the wet season, is a short boat ride away.
- Solasta Spa Built over the lagoon, with yoga classes at sunrise.
- Hanifaru Bay The protected bay of the atoll, where mantas and whale sharks come to feed, within reach by boat.
- Bohemian houses Interiors in a relaxed, bohemian style, every house with a pool and direct access to the beach or the lagoon.
Rooms & suites

All 26 are houses or residences with a pool of their own. Sizes are from the resort's fact sheet.

- On the sand Beach House One bedroom and about 280 square metres, with a pool and the beach in front.
- For a family Beach Residence From 400 square metres with one bedroom to 545 square metres with two. There is also one three-bedroom house, The Nautilus Retreat.
