Hatten Hotel stands on Jalan Merdeka in Bandar Hilir, a short walk from the hill where the Portuguese and Dutch built their town. It is tied to the Hatten Square mall by an enclosed bridge over the road, and Mahkota Parade is two minutes away on foot. St Paul's Hill, Christ Church and the Melaka Sultanate Palace are all within a ten-minute walk, and Jonker Street a little further.

Nearly every room here is a suite, 704 keys in all, from studios of 30 square metres to two-bedroom suites of 98. The guest floors look over the city or out to the Straits. Level 12 holds the infinity pool, the gym, H Spa and the Premier Lounge, and the Alto Sky Lounge sits on the twenty-second floor. Parking, with electric car chargers, is in the same building, and the hotel takes no cash.
