The hotel

On Binjiang Road, by the river.

Binjiang Road runs beside the Li River through the centre of Guilin, and the Sheraton has stood on it since 1988. The hotel was renovated in 2017, and Marriott now describes its 408 rooms as newly renovated. Seventeen of them are suites, and most look over the river toward the mountains; the rest face the gardens. Club rooms come with access to the hotel's Club Lounge.

The location does much of the work. Zhengyang Walking Street, in the old centre, is close enough to reach on foot. Elephant Trunk Hill lies along the same river, and Fubo Hill is near as well. Back at the hotel there are three restaurants, an outdoor pool, a gym with a sauna, and eleven meeting rooms for conferences and private dinners.

Guilin Liangjiang International is 28 kilometres away, about forty minutes by car. Business jets use the same airport, with the permit for China arranged before departure. The hotel has no shuttle but books a private car.
