The hotel
Marriott's first address in the capital.
Le Méridien Thimphu opened in 2014 as the first Marriott International hotel in the Bhutanese capital. It is a modern building of seventy-eight rooms, most of them Classic rooms, with a handful of Deluxe rooms and suites. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out over the town or up to the mountains that close in the valley. A banquet hall of some 4,100 square feet takes meetings and events.
The hotel stands on Chorten Lam, in the centre, so the town's markets and museums are close enough to walk to. Downstairs, Latitude 27 is a coffee house by day and a lounge by night. Every other evening, Bhutanese musicians play at the open-air restaurant, and the pool is heated and under cover, so it can be used all year.
- Indoor pool A heated pool under cover, free for guests, with a gym, steam room and sauna.
- Explore Spa Massages and body treatments, with steam and sauna alongside.
- On foot The centre of Thimphu, its markets and museums, a short walk from the door.
