The hotel

A family palace in the medina.

The core of Riad Fès is a palace of the fourteenth century in the Zerbtana quarter, once the house of a notable family of the city. The hotel restored it and has welcomed guests for some twenty years; today it belongs to a Moroccan architect. It is a member of Relais & Châteaux, and the sister of Hotel Sahrai on the hill outside the walls.

Over time the house spread into five buildings, each in its own manner: Moroccan, modern, Baroque or Andalusian. The MICHELIN Guide calls it a full-service hotel in the shape of a riad. Behind the old walls are a 14-metre pool by the French designer Christophe Pillet, a spa with a hammam and a roof terrace looking across the medina to the mountains.

  • The pool Fourteen metres long, heated and open all year, designed by Christophe Pillet, with the African lounge overlooking it.
  • The Rooftop A terrace bar from late afternoon, with the roofs of the medina and the hills beyond.
  • Spa Riad Fès Treatments by Cinq Mondes and marocMaroc, with a hammam.
