The hotel
Accor comes to the Copperbelt.
Accor announced the opening of Novotel Lubumbashi in May 2024. After Kinshasa, it was the group's second hotel in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It stands in Quartier Golf, one of the fastest-growing residential districts of Lubumbashi, about five minutes by car from the city centre. Lake Kipopo and the eighteen-hole golf course are both a short walk from the entrance.
The interiors are by the design studio METRO. There are 120 rooms and suites, the larger ones with balconies facing the water, and four meeting rooms for business visitors. Phones double as room keys. On the ninth-floor terrace, a pool and a bar look across Lake Kipopo. In the evening the Xpressions lounge plays Amapiano, and the brasserie downstairs cooks in an open kitchen.
