Turboprop
Island hops, mountain valleys and short runways.
Propeller-driven and frugal, the turboprop is the aircraft for short hops, and for the airfields that jets leave alone: short runways, island strips, high valleys.
It flies a little lower and slower than a jet, which makes little difference over an hour or so, and it costs less to run. The cabin seats a small group comfortably, though not standing.
