The hotel
A madrasa front in the old town.
Asia Bukhara opened in April 2006 on Mekhtar Ambar Street, in the old town among buildings of the twelfth to sixteenth centuries. It was built low, two floors only, and its front copies the lines of an old madrasa to match the old buildings around it. It belongs to the Asia group, which also keeps hotels in Khiva and Fergana.
Lyabi-Hauz and the Nadir Divan-Beghi madrasa are about two hundred metres away, and the Kalyan mosque about five hundred. Inside, the rooms are furnished with pieces made by Bukhara craftsmen and look over the old town. In summer the outdoor pool opens, and in the evening the roof bar, Under the Moon, looks out over the domes. A tea room and a sauna complete the house.
- Under the Moon An open-air bar on the roof, above the old town.
- Pool in summer An outdoor pool with loungers, umbrellas and its own bar, open from May to October.
- On foot to the sights Lyabi-Hauz in two minutes, the Kalyan mosque in about five and Chor-Minor in ten.
