The hotel
Built around the trees.
There is no tree house. The name comes from the garden: when Patrick Martin designed the hotel with local engineers, he kept the trees already growing on the plot and built around them. One rises through a hole in the floor, and branches pass through openings in the stucco roof. At the front stands an old casona; the rooms sit behind it in the garden.
The pool is lined in chukum, a Maya stucco of limestone and tree resin, and its edges bend around the roots. Furniture is made of tzalam, the local hardwood. The Martin family runs the house, and their café is next door. The MICHELIN Guide kept its Key here in 2026. Sunita and Selena Martin often pour wine or mezcal for guests in the lobby, and families go to a sister house a few doors away.
- The pool A long, narrow pool with trees growing out of it and two water spouts falling down a tall plaster wall.
- Roots Wine Bar Open to house guests from noon to 10 pm, with wine and seasonal cocktails under the canopy.
- Santa Ana Ramiro Cocina is around the corner, and the starred Huniik is on Parque Santa Ana nearby.
