The hotel
A mansion turned inward.
Decu Downtown occupies a nineteenth-century mansion on Calle 56, facing Parque Santa Lucía a few streets from the cathedral. The restoration kept the mosaic tiled floors and the corniced ceilings, and added modern furniture, big bathrooms and local craft. The house is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and the MICHELIN Guide has listed it with a Key since 2025.
From the street you see only the old façade. The rooms face inward, onto a courtyard garden and a pool, which the MICHELIN inspectors call remarkably tranquil for the centre of the city. Up on the roof, a lounge looks out across the colonial skyline, and the arcades and restaurants of Santa Lucía begin outside the front door. Plaza Grande is about a kilometre away on foot.
- The rooftop An open-air lounge on the roof, with cocktails and views over the old city.
- Garden and pool A courtyard garden and pool at the centre of the house, with spa treatments on request.
- On foot Parque Santa Lucía is outside, Plaza Grande about a kilometre away, and the hotel lends bicycles free of charge.
