The hotel
Where Anantara began.
Anantara opened its first resort here in November 2001, and its design set the pattern for many Anantara hotels that followed around the world. Bill Bensley laid the grounds out like an old Thai village by the sea: low pavilions set among gardens and lotus ponds on the Gulf of Thailand. The rooms and suites stand in low buildings among the ponds, looking over the gardens, the lagoon or the sea. The MICHELIN Guide gives the resort one Key in 2026.
Ahead of its 25th anniversary, the resort went through a full renovation and relaunched on 1 November 2025. All 171 rooms and suites were redone, with new rooms opening straight onto a pool. The work also brought an adults-only lagoon pool, a longer beachfront, a new kids' club and a small farm with animals. A new beachfront grill, Sea Fire Salt, opened with it.

Getting there
Flying to Hua Hin.
Most guests land at Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok and drive about three hours down the coast. Private jets can fly on to Hua Hin airport, about ten minutes from the resort, after clearing customs at another Thai airport.
