The hotel
A resort built around a tour course.
Maxx Royal opened in Belek in May 2011, beside a golf course that had been the Papillon. Colin Montgomerie reworked it with Gary Johnson of European Golf Design and put his name to it, and the eighteen holes were later floodlit for night play. In November 2013 it staged the first Turkish Airlines Open, Türkiye's first European Tour event, and returned as host in 2014, 2015 and 2019.
Brooks Koepka won there in 2014 and Tyrrell Hatton in 2019. The resort itself runs on an ultra all-inclusive basis, with 512 rooms across the main building, lagoon suites and villas, eight à la carte restaurants and fourteen bars. It belongs to The Leading Hotels of the World, and its sister houses are in Kemer and Bodrum. The MICHELIN Guide lists it without a Key.
- Golf after dark The eighteen holes are floodlit for night play, and the clubhouse terrace looks over the eighteenth green.
- Beach pavilions Private pavilions along the shore, and for villa guests a jetty of their own over the sea.
- At the table Eight à la carte restaurants and fourteen bars, on an ultra all-inclusive basis.
