The hotel

A family house on Rebero Hill.

The Pinnacle began as the private home of Sheila Kyarisiima and her family, on Rebero Hill south of the city centre. Born in Uganda to Rwandan and Ugandan parents, she studied civil engineering at Brown and started out at Goldman Sachs. Turning the house into a hotel took five years. It took its first guests in 2025 and opened formally in January 2026.

Each of the nine rooms takes its theme from a place or a chapter in the owners' lives, with names such as Sunset Serenity, Royal Respite and Golden Guild. Within months TIME put it on its list of the World's Greatest Places of 2026, it became the first Rwandan member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and the MICHELIN Guide gave it a Key.

  • The pool A heated saltwater infinity pool with a sunken bar, looking out over the hills of Kigali.
  • Play A four-lane bowling alley, a 21-seat Dolby Atmos cinema, a games lounge and courts for tennis, padel and basketball.
  • On the roof Ishami, the rooftop restaurant and bar, with views across the city at sunset.
