The hotel
Built as an Aman.
The site was once a government hotel run by the India Tourism Development Corporation. Aman rebuilt it with the Australian architect Kerry Hill and opened it in 2009 as Aman New Delhi: a nine-storey block and a five-storey block around a courtyard and pool, with Khareda stone floors, dark wood and jaali screens filtering the light. Many rooms were given plunge pools of their own.
When Aman left a few years later the hotel kept its building and took the name of the road, The Lodhi. It stands on about seven acres in Lutyens' Delhi, close to Lodhi Garden, Khan Market and the tombs of Humayun and Safdarjung. It is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, and in 2026 the MICHELIN Guide gave it one Key.
